Jan Petter goes to Gothenburg
Jan Petter Hansen, former head of Department of Physics and Technology and one of the promotors for establishing nanoscience as a topic of research and education at UiB, has accepted a position as head (prefekt) of the Department for Space, Earth and Environment (SEE) at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. Chalmers has a two-level, faculty-less organization and as of May 1, 2017 SEE is one of altogether 13 departments. While mobility among senior scientific staff is often found wanting in Norway, here is an exception. We wish Jan Petter every success in his new position!
